Company History

LePage's 2000, Inc. has been an innovator in tapes, glues, and dispensers since it was founded in 1879 by William Nelson LePage. LePage's developed industrial glue made from fish skin that was ready-to-use, very strong, and had a long shelf life. Shortly thereafter, LePage developed a consumer version and expanded his line into other products, including mucilage, a product that is still widely used today.

In the mid 1950s, the Canadian business of LePage's was sold by LePage's to a Canadian company. At that time, LePage's also sold the trademark rights in Canada only for the LePage name. Today, LePage's 2000, Inc. owns global rights to the name and LePage (Canada) is a brand existing only in Canada and owned by Henkel Corporation. LePage's 2000, Inc. is the exclusive United States Postal Service® branded partner for mail and ship products, in addition to the developer of innovations such as the Bandit™ Tapegun and Press 'n Cut™ stationery tape dispenser.
